Louis Vuitton presents with his collection “Masters” an ideal trip in the world of art.
Owning one of those great handbags in this collection is like having an artwork!
Louis Vuitton entrusted Jeff Koons with the task of creating the “Masters” collection. Koons, a world-famous artist, has invented unique and marvelous handbags.
He has chosen five famous artworks and each one represents something for him: Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa”, Titian’s “Mars, Venus and Cupid”, Rubens’s “Tiger Hunt”, Jean-Honoré Fragonard’s “Girl with a Dog “and Vincent van Gogh’s “Wheat Field with Cypresses”.
For example, “Mona Lisa” represents Leonardo in his essence and it’s an art icon, “Tiger hunt” is exciting, “Girl playing with the dog” is irreverent.
Each bag has the Monogram LV of the Maison that merges with the artist JK and, on the bottom, is printed the biography of the author of the work and that of Koons.
These icon bags were launched with a grand VIP gala at the Louvre last month where many celebrities participated, such as Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connelly, Catherine Deneuve, Léa Seydoux, Miranda Kerr and Natalia Vodianova.
Focusing on the price, it’s not for all pockets: for a Speedy inspired by Van Gogh it takes 2,240 euros, for a Rubens backpack 2,600 euros.
